Security Agencies Should Deal With Anyone Who Causes Mayhem After Court Ruling

Deputy Minister of Information and Media Relations, Murtala Mohammed has called on security agencies in the country to deal with any person who tries to cause mayhem following the Supreme Court ruling on the election petition filed by the leaders of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP). According to him, some people are nursing thoughts of violence and preparing themselves to launch the country into chaos. He therefore cautioned such people not to nurse their thoughts into actions or otherwise face the wrath of the security services. He recounted on Radio Golds Alhaji Alhaji on Saturday that he perceives that people are preparing the minds of their people for violence. People are preparing the minds of their people for violence. And I would just want to urge them that look, this country, democracy is the path that we have all agreed to charter. If anybody thinks that they can indeed destroy this democracy, I believe that the security agencies will meet those people boot for boot. Anybody who tries to cause mayhem in this country because the Supreme Court in the event of not ruling in their favour, they will be in the grips of the security services, he emphasized.
