Black Stars Set-Up Johannesburg Camp Ahead of Lesotho Clash

The Black Stars of Ghana after completing one of their June tasks, defeating Sudan in Omdurman last Friday have turned their focus to the June 16-Lesotho crucial encounter as they arrived at the O.R Tambo International Airport, South Africa at 11.30 GMT last Saturday. En route Johannesburg, the Black Stars departed the Khartoum Airport at 02.00 GMT and made a two-hour transit in Addis Ababa before leaving for South Africa. The team was met on arrival by some senior government officials like Mr. E.T Mensah, a former Minister of Sports and the head of consular section of the Ghana High Commission, Mr Lawrence Azumah as well as some members of staff of the high commission. The Black Stars are lodged at the Southern Sun O.R Tambo International Hotel situated at Kempton Park; only about 500 meters away from the main Airport. AllSports understands the team will be training on an artificial pitch in Johannesburg and have secured PSL side Mamelodi Sundowns� facilities for their training sessions until June 14 when they will depart for Maseru to face Lesotho for the day 5 of the Group D 2014 World Cup Qualifying matches two days later. Ghana continues to lie a point below Zambia who are on 10 points on the Group D log after last weekend�s round of World Cup qualifiers. The Zambians thrashed Lesotho 4-0 at home on Saturday after the Black Stars had also sealed a 3-1 away victory in Sudan.
