Prof. Mills� Humility; Legacy To Reconcile Ghanaians

Mr Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, Minister of Sports has extolled the qualities of Late President John Evans Fifi Atta Mills as those that should guide Ghanaians to unite and propel national development agenda and reconciliation. He said Ghanaians needed to remember the late President of his humility, faithfulness, dedication to duty, high sense of humour, honesty and as a peacemaker, virtues pivotal to reconciling and uniting Ghanaians for national progress. Mr Ankrah said this during the first anniversary celebration of the passing of President Mills at the national theatre in Accra on Sunday. He said the late President was mostly revered for his humility, incorruptibility, statesmanship, academic prowess, service to the nation, love for the youth, demonstrative skills and knowledge in governance, as well as unwavering love for sports and service to God, which called for emulation by the younger generation. He said those virtues were relevant for national reconciliation, unity and societal progress. Reverend Fred Degbe, Former General Secretary of the Christian Council of Ghana said the qualities of Professor Mills had been extolled, and that it emanated from good parental, educational and community training, and called on the Ghanaian society to live up to expectation. He also called on those in leadership positions to spend time wisely to leave a life necessary to create the right environment needed for the younger generation to copy the virtues of truthfulness, honesty, humility and reconciliation to advance the course of the nation.
