MDCEs Asked To Be Modest

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Mr Eric Opoku, has sworn in 10 Municipal and District Chief Executives (MDCEs) , urging them to avoid arrogance and to be modest in their lifestyles. They are Mr Richard Ofori-Agyemang Boadi, for Obuasi, and Alhaji Nuru Hamidan, Asokore Mampong. Alhaji Braimah Boyong, Asante-Akim Central, Mr De-graft Forkuo, Asante-Akim South, Mr Edward Kusi-Ayarkwa, Sekyere South, Mr Kwaku Kaakyire Oppong-Kyekyeku, Afigya-Kwabre, Alhaji Latif Majdoud, Adansi North, Mr Ebenezer Akuoko-Frimpong, Sekyere Central, Mr Kwame Adarkwah, Bosome-Freho and Mr Donkor Fuseini, Sekyere Afram Plains, are the District Chief Executives (DCEs). The regional minister asked them to establish good working relations with the people and be approachable and friendly. Mr Opoku said this would enable the Chief Executives to win the support and cooperation of stakeholders, including traditional rulers, the media and civil society organizations. He again reminded them to put the development of the people ahead of partisan political consideration. The Regional Minister challenged them to work hard to enhance the performance of the assemblies, adding that, water and sanitation issues should be given priority attention.
