SIC Insurance Introduces E-Insurance

Premier insurance company, SIC Insurance Company Ltd, has introduced an on-line service codenamed SIC e-insurance, that ensures convenience in the purchase and renewal of policies by customers. The service, the first of its kind by any insurance company in the country, allows customers to buy and renew their insurance policy within 24 hours, without visiting any SIC office or agent in person. The service work with the creation of an IT infrastructure that allows customers to go online, buy and renew their policies, as well as generate an invoice number with which they can make payments. Mrs. Doris Awo Nkani, the Managing Director of SIC Insurance, who disclosed this, added that �customers of the company could also use the service to initiate claims. She made the announcement today during the launch of the new service in Accra, attended by both civil servants and stakeholders of the insurance industry. �All you need is internet accessibility from any location. You can access this service by going onto our corporate website at www.sic-gh.com to create an account,� she said, indicating both motor and travel insurance could be bought using the service. Describing the service as an innovation, Mrs. Nkani noted that SIC Company would continue to explore various ways that would bring comfort to customers and entrench its leadership in the insurance industry. �Here the goal is to be fluid in innovation and not sticking the old ways. Demographic and technological changes in today�s world demand that we meet the broad needs of our clients in more comfortable ways. �This will help increase our market presence, beat competition, improve customer acquisition and retention, as well as create operational and technological strategies for the years ahead,� she indicated. For his part, the Chairman of SIC Insurance Board, Mr. Max Cobbina, explained that the world was fast evolving into a cashless society �and so this is our contribution for the country to take its share and embrace such innovations that ensures adequate customer satisfaction.� Also in attendance included Mr. Romeo Bugyei, the Head of IT, SIC Insurance, and Mrs. Emma Ocran, the Head of the Legal National Insurance Commission who represented the Insurance Commissioner.
