MCE Locked Out In Assin Fosu

Drama Unfolded at Assin Fosu in the Assin Central Municipality of the Central Region on Friday when some unidentified people locked the offices of the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Alex Antwi Boasiako. Sources told Daily Guide that the incident took place around 3 pm when Mr. Baosiako left the place to undertake an official assignment. Some angry assembly members, at an earlier press conference at Assin Fosu, ordered the MCE to leave office on July 26, 2013 after his failed attempt to seek re-election and also threatened bloodshed. Daily Guide gathered that some people are pointing accusing fingers at the assembly members in the area who refused to give Mr. Boasiako the nod. Patrick Ampem Darko, assembly member for Domenase Electoral Area, in a telephone interview, denied claims that the assembly members locked the offices of the MCE. He was of the view that some people took action to tarnish the image of the assembly members who previously made the pronouncement to compel the MCE to bring his macho men to order. The MCE locked the offices to create the impression that we are wicked people who are rather harassing him, the assembly man alleged. He said the edifice houses the MCE as well as other assembly members. Mr. Ampem Darko hinted that they would conduct investigations into the matter to ascertain the truth.
