Provide Security Road Map For Return Leg FIFA Tells Egypt

Citi Sports can confirm that FIFA has written to the Egyptian FA to provide a comprehensive security road map within the next fortnight for visiting FIFA delegations to the country for the second leg of the FIFA 2014 World Cup qualifying play-offs. The delegations in question are made up of the visiting teams and match officials. The world football governing body says it will also monitor the security situation not only at the proposed match venue, the Military Stadium in Cairo, but across the entire country in the face of recent clashes that have left over 50 people dead. FIFA adds that if the Egyptians do not provide a response by the 28thof October, it will meet again to reconsider their stance on the second leg of the match which will be played on the 19th of November, 2013. Earlier this week, the Ghana Football Association wrote to FIFA expressing concerns over security in the Egyptian capital following recent renewed clashes in Cairo. Ghana and Egypt are among ten African countries seeking a place in next year's World Cup in Brazil.
