Over 23 Million African Die Yearly - WHO

Over 23 million people in Africa lose their lives yearly with 43 million others sustaining injuries while accessing medical care. According to a study conducted by the World Health Organisation, patients in the African sub region and the East Mediterarian stand a higher risk of suffering injuries and health complications at health centres. Speaking at the 10th anniversary conference of the NHIS a WHO official Dr. Shams Syed charged managers of the Scheme to ensure that service providers under the Scheme prioritise patient safety. He said the safety of the patient is key and that must be supreme over any other thing.
