Immediate past National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament (MP) for Adenta constituency, Kojo Adu-Asare has expressed bewilderment at the way and manner a Deputy Minister of Communication �washed her party's dirty linen on phone�. A voice purported to be that of Victoria Hammah, first played on Neat FM's "Me Man Nti" show hosted by Adakabre Frimpong Manso is heard telling a female companion that she will not quit politics until she makes at least US$1 Million. The two ladies (Victoria Hammah and the unknown lady), who appeared to be traveling while having the gossipy conversation, are also heard on the leaked secret audio tape severely condemning the Deputy Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Rachel Appoh, for instigating bad press against her boss, Nana Oye Lithur. They described Hon. Rachel Appoh as a �senseless, ugly, loud and egoistic� woman who has been needlessly fighting Oye Lithur. Expressing his views on Facebook, Kojo Adu-Asare described some of the allegations heard on the �Vickyleaks� tape as �unthinkable falsehood that should be treated with the contempt it deserves�. Adding that, �This was an attempt to peddle her influence beyond her status to an innocent listener in that conversation. That statement lacks merit and should not be swallowed hook, line and sinker by any of my cherished friends because she cannot adduce any evidence to support that claim.� Below is the unedited remarks by Hon. Kojo Adu-Asare on his Facebook wall� It is with a heavy heart that I write this post to share with my friends this morning. My heart goes out to my friend and sister the Deputy Minister of Communications Miss Victoria Hammah on the morning after the tape on which a voice attributed to her was first played by Neat fM and subsequently published in newspapers, online networks and other social media. I haven't been privileged to listen to the full complement of the tape but the flash points I have listened leave me in awe and a dropped-jaw for the issues raised in the conversation. It smacks of pettiness in a litany of issues borne out of a feeling of 'primus intaparis' first among equals. The person behind the voice tried to impress whoever she was chatting with, by veering into issues that have dire consequences on the names of people mentioned in the conversation. She tried to elevate her stature as the best personality who has been carefully appointed to the choicest ministry because she's the smartest, intelligent, competent, and experienced among her fellow compatriots, nothing more, nothing less. Perhaps her experience as the SRC president at the University of Ghana, Legon over bloated her ego to a point of ecstatic ebb, where trivialities took the best part of her whilst unguardedly kicking innocent people into unwarranted trouble with her fantasies. I consider a number of issues raised on the tape especially the part that seeks to suggest that Mr Tony Lithur controls three Ministries as another joke, a joke because even though she didn't name the ministries, I don't see how possible that assignment can achieve any meaningful purpose, overseeing one ministry requires one's fullest attention and resourcefulness let alone three? This is an unthinkable falsehood that should be treated with the content it deserves. The attempt again to unleash such an allegation as grievous as alleging that Tony Lithur met all the judges before the Supreme Court Verdict was declared, brings about one quick question, did Tony Lithur meet the other 4 judges who voted against the Respondents too? And why did they choose to vote the way they did? These questions should attract the attention of those who are quick to draw hasty conclusions on the score of Vicky's aversion. This was an attempt to peddle her influence beyond her status to an innocent listener in that conversation. On the issue of making a million dollar and quitting, also smacks of wishful thinking, I have not worked as a minister or a deputy before, but as a former Member of Parliament, I have two very close friends who have occupied that position before and are still working in that capacity, and I can confidently say that it is more impossible for one to 'make' that kind of money as a deputy minister during one's unpredictable tenure, (since one can easily be reshuffled). The pressure of work on a daily basis and the fact that your schedule as a deputy minister is determined by the substantive Minister (The Richael Appoh vrs Nana Oye Lithur example comes readily to mind) where and how on earth was she going to make a million dollars and quit? Vicky should school some of us, because the measures the President Mahama is putting in place to fight corruption will not countenance whatever means she had in mind to 'make' one million US dollars. These and other such statements are those that make the politician a target of ridicule and slander. This is another low blow from Vicky to politicians in general and the NDC government in particular, u don't indict our colleagues like that with such scandalous statements. At this point I want to urge my fellow politicians and compatriots in the NDC government to learn the art of exercising discretion when having conversations, taking into consideration the technology of our times and how untrustworthy the people around us can be. In as much as I don't share in these craze of recording conversations and videos for blackmail purposes, one should be guarded by certain principles that will not make it necessary for our private conversations to become a sensational issue in the media. The best virtue one can learn in politics is to be crisp in one's conversations. Listen more, say less. If possible no one phone call to anybody you haven't met personally should last more than three minutes. Again if you can, 'Let the words of thy mouth and the meditations of thy heart, be acceptable in the sight of God'.....this will guarantee you safety in all that you say at all times.......Good Morning folks, BIG CHEERS TO ALL OF YOU.
