A leading member of opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) who is also a founding-member has asked the party�s Council of Elders to move and put a stop to the current disquiet within the grass-root level of the party. He suggests that �the method in which some chairpersons at the constituency and regional levels are hiding forms from persons wishing to contest the NPP polling stations positions is worrying�. The leading member who said he wants to keep his name out for now, because the messenger is not as important as the massage, said �even though, he thinks Nana Akufo-Addo has a better chance to give His Excellency John Dramani Mahama a good run for 2016, the way and manner people loyal to him are hiding the forms is likely to cause problem for the party later�. Asked to explain further, he said; �those who are hiding the forms are creating the impression that they are working solely for Nana Addo, when in earnest, they are doing so to protect their back�. At the flagbearership level, Nana Akufo-Addo is the man to beat. Many of the chairpersons are likely to lose their positions, so they will be giving out the forms to persons they (chairpersons) believe will vote for them, and will use Nana Addo as their trump card, the leading member further stated. He added also that, when this process of hiding forms continues and Nana Akufo-Addo wins, it might beat the impression that Nana won unfairly, a situation that will hinder his chances in the general elections in 2016. He gave an advice to the Council of Elders and all leading members to �please do not sit down and pride yourself as Council of Elder member. You must get going when troubles start brewing in the party�, he warned.
