Ghana Premier League: Kotoko Thump King Faisal To Open Up Four-point Lead

Kotoko restored their four-point lead at the summit of the table after a 3-0 win over city rivals King Faisal in the Ghana Premier League on Wednesday. Seidu Bansey�s double and an own goal from Emmanuel Baffour helped the Porcupine Warriors to win the derby at the Baba Yara stadium. The defending champions have opened a four-point lead after close challengers Hearts and Ashantigold lost their respective games. Hearts were beaten 1-0 by Medeama at Cape Coast with striker Kabiru Imoro scoring against the run of play with four minutes left to play. It will be a result which will sadden many Hearts fans who were hoping for another win to keep the pressure on Kotoko. Third-place Ashantigold also lst 2-0 to Premier League new boys Inter Allies with Dennis Agyei and Prosper Kasim scoring a goal in each half. New Edubiase thumped Amidaus Professionals 4-0 to move up the table. Nuhu Fusein�s double and an own goal from Iddrisu Ahmed and Emmanuel Akuoku condemned the visitors to yet another defeat on the road. Elsewhere, Aduana Stars recorded recorded a 2-0 win over Ebusua Dwarfs at the Dorma Ahenkro. Hasaacas came from behind to beat Liberty Professionals 3-1. Liberty went ahead through Albert Quaye�s own goal before Roger Lamptey equalized for the home side before he notched the winner late in the second half. In other results Bechem United and Heart of Lions sold out a five-goal thriller in a 3-2 win for United. All Stars and Berekum Chelsea shared the points in a goalless drawn game at the Wa Park.
