I Wont Contest Again Balado Manu

Hon. Stephen Kweku Balado Manu has pulled the plugs on his ambition to become the General Secretary of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP). The former Member of Parliament for Ahafo Ano South Constituency says due to some very, very personal reasons, he will contest for the position. He made the announcement on Citi Fms current affairs program, The Big Issues on Saturday. He however did not say if he will throw his weight behind any of the other contestants. Hon. Balado Manu had been touted as one of the frontlines in the race for the position of Chief Scribe, which pundits believe, will be hotly contested. With his withdrawal from the race, the stage is set for Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, also known as Sir John who is the incumbent; Capt. (Rt.) Nkrabea Effah Dartey, a former Local Government Minister in the Kufuor administration; Yaw Buabeng Asamoah, a former Deputy Communications Director of the party and Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, a former Press Secretary to then President J.A Kufuor, to convince the delegates of their capabilities of marshalling the rank and file of the party to electoral victory in 2016. Hon. Balado Manu wished all the contestants the best of luck in their bid to become the General Secretary of the biggest opposition party in the country.
