Gyan Certain Stars Will Make It Past Group Stages

Asamoah Gyan is certain the Black Stars will make it out of a difficult World Cup group including Germany, Portugal and USA. The Black Stars will be facing old foes in Germany and the USA in the group phase at next years event in Brazil. Ghana will again have to account for a talented Portugal team led by Cristiano Ronaldo who many believe is the current best player in the world. Many pundits have already predicted the progress of the two European giants at the expense of Ghana and the USA. But Gyan believes the fortified Black Stars team full of world class experience and budding talents will again prove many sceptics wrong as they have done in previous World Cup campaigns. It happens to us always, the most difficult group, the group of death, but we have a good selection to rival any team, the Ghana captain in quoted in the Portuguese press. We dont fear Germany, Portugal or even the United States. Ghanaians can be rest assured; we will qualify and make the country proud again. There is great teamwork and coordination among us, so we will work hard. Ghana will begin its campaign in Brazil against USA before facing Germany and then Portugal. The Black Stars aim at going at least one better than their quarter final finish last term in South Africa. Ex-captain John Mensah is optimistic the African giants will prove critics wrong by advancing from the Group of Death at the 2014 Brazil World Cup. The centre-back, who played in Ghanas two previous World Cup appearances, believes will successfully navigate their path against USA, Germany and Portugal in Group. Pundits have written off Ghanas quest of progressing this time round but the former Sunderland player says the Black Stars improved level of maturity makes them a credible side for any opposition. We have been there twice and on both occasions we made progress, Mensah said. In 2010 most people thought we couldnt make it out of the group stages but we got to the quarter finals. The Black Stars have matured over the years and this draw only means we are ready to move another step further at the World Cup. Injury-prone Mensah has been out of action since his contract with Rennes expired last season.
