Members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) who have plans to contest for positions in the party in the Ashanti region have received massive financial support. A leading member of the party, Bernard Antwi Boasiako aka �Wontumi� has fully paid the form fees for members of the party that desire to contest for positions in the party in Ashanti region. A leading member of the largest opposition political party in the country told Daily Guide that Wontumi paid a staggering GH�20,000 to enable people, who want to contest for positions to obtain forms free of charge. The party member, who divulged the information to DAILY GUIDE, said Wontumi, a leading contender for the Ashanti regional NPP chairmanship position, paid the money to NPP national executives recently. According to him, Wontumi, who is the Bosomtwe Constituency chairman of the NPP decided to pay the money to encourage competent people to work effectively for the NPP. He noted that Wontumi wants the upcoming NPP constituency polls in the region to be attractive and competitive. In related development, Dr. Amoako Tuffuor, another leading member of the NPP, has praised Wontumi for the amazing love shown to the NPP, urging him to remain generous to the party. Dr. Tuffuor said the NPP needs selfless people like Wontumi to lead the party to victory in the 2016 general elections. He therefore admonished NPP supporters across the country to emulate the gesture of Wontumi to help the largest opposition political party to realize its objectives of recapturing political power from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2016 general elections.
