Ghana Must Count Her Blessings

Hon. Inusah Fusieni, the Minister of Lands and Natural Resources has appealed to Ghanaians to be grateful to God for the outcome of the last general elections and the subsequent election petition battle at the Supreme Court. According to him, many countries ended up in civil wars due to rancor and bitterness after elections and after voting along ethnic lines, but Ghana is fortunate to have successfully gone through an unprecedented election petition trial. we must count our blessings and name them one by one and we will see what the Lord has done, Hon. Fuseini stated. He made these comments CITI FM over the weekend, during a special edition of The Big Issue, which sought to recap the events that took place in the course of the year. Many across the globe have described Ghana as blessed to have gone through five general elections without any form of hostilities and have praised the presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo, for resorting to a court action after the December, 2012 polls when the NPP appeared dissatisfied with the results. Countries such as Rwanda, Liberia and most recently, La Cote dIvoire imploded despite the prospects of fledgling democracy. It is for this reason that the MP for Tamale Central believes Ghana is blessed and should therefore count her blessings.
