Adentan Killing: Deceased Bro Speaks- "We Won't Give UpLet The Police Kill Us All"

Brother of the young man who was shot in the head and killed by police during a demolition exercise at Adenta, Nii Amarkai Mensah Botchway has express shock at the way and manner the police is handling the death of his brother in the media. He described the police justifications as packet of lies that his brother threatened armed police officer with a machete. They (Police) are lying. Its a total lie. None of them (youth) was even having a knife on themthey are lying. They should allow the people also to speak. Are they taking us for granted? The police should stop it. Would they be happy if the boy is their brother? They are professionals so they should know how to go about their work, he said. The Police after the killing has described the youth as hooligans who were ready to attack. But the brother suspects the police may have killed his brother inadvertently as the youth, including the deceased, pressed to question why their properties were being destroyed. Nii Amarkai said he learned the police started firing warning shots one of which may have strayed to hit his brother aged about 24 years but it was unprofessional and irresponsible for the police to cook up the story that his brother was a land guard who aimed to hack a policeman with the machete. Speaking on NEAT FM, the elder brother of the victim stated that, the police after their unprofessional killing did not allow him access to the lifeless body of his brother. For now we dont know where they (police) have sent the body to because they did not allow us to go near the body, he noted. Nonetheless, he vowed that they will not give up. we will continue to fight. They should come and kill all of us at Adenta village. If the police claim we are land guards, they should come to the village that is where we live. They should come and arrest all of us land guards or kill all of us. They should stop that kind of insincerity talkThe family will pursue the matter to the highest level, he said.
