Prez Mahama Has Done Nothing Market Woman

Even though 2016 general election is three years away, some of the residents in Koforidua who spoke to The Chronicle on President Mahamas one year in office say they would vote against him because he has failed to live up to their expectation. Minaratu Abdulai, a petty trader, said she regretted voting for President John Mahama in the last election because he had failed to justify the confidence they (market women) reposed in him. According to her, she thought that the President, as a former Vice President, had learnt all the intricacies of governance, but he has rather disappointed them. According to her, the recent Christmas was the worst she had ever celebrated in her life due to the bad economic management of the NDC. To the Koforidua market woman, the leadership of the NDC should bow their heads in shame since they have nothing to celebrate about in the first year of the President. On his part, Mark Boateng, a taxi driver at the Kofordua taxi station, also asked the president to immediately do something about the economy. The Eastern Regional 1st vice chairman of the largest opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alhaji Urmar Bodinga said the greatest achievement of the Presidents first year in office was to create, loot and share. Speaking at a programme organized on Tuesday to celebrate the first year in office of the president, the leadership of NDC in the region praised the courage and determination of the president to move the country forward in the right direction. According to them, John Mahamas first year in office was met with various shades of challenges but he demonstrated in all activities that he is the man to take Ghana to the Promised Land. Speaker after speaker at the programme heaped praises on the president, describing him as the chosen one because he has what it takes to improve on the economic condition of the people.
