Four persons lost their lives while several others sustained injuries when an articulated truck heading towards Accra from Takoradi crashed into a Yutong bus at Eduagyei near Atabadze in the Central Region on Thursday morning.
The dead, two males, a female and a toddler, have been deposited at the Central Regional Teaching Hospital morgue for identification and the injured are receiving treatment at the same hospital.
The Central Regional Chairman of the National Road Safety Commission (NRSC), Mr. Stephen Anokye, told the GNA in a telephone interview that the accident was caused by wrongful overtaking by the truck driver.
He said the truck driver, who escaped unhurt, bolted but was arrested by the police.
