British Council Ghana Appoints New Country Director

The British Council Ghana (BCG), a United Kingdom international organization for educational opportunities and cultural relations, has announced the appointment of Mrs. Liliana Biglou as its new Country Director in Ghana. A statement signed by Benjamin Offor, head of programmes at the BCG, and copied to the Ghana News Agency, said the new Director arrived in Ghana on December 13 to take up her post. The statement said Mrs BiglouIt has worked with the British Council for over 25 years in several countries like Malawi, Kenya, former Soviet Union, Romania and Canada, adding, �In the 1990s, she worked for two years in BCG under the Library and Information Services department�. Mrs. Biglou has a first degree in Languages and Literature and a Master�s degree in information Science from University of London. �I am very excited about the work of British Council in Ghana and look forward to having even more effective engagements with the partners of British Council and the people of Ghana. I count it a privilege and great honour to be leading British Council Ghana together with a team of talented colleagues�, the new ountry Director stated. Mrs .Biglou whose hobbies are travelling, and experiencing different cultures, and is married with two children, intends to make BCG even more relevant and accessible as an educational opportunities provider, and looks forward to further strengthening the cultural relations between Britain and Ghana, the statement concluded.
