School Storekeeper Arrested For Stealing Books

The storekeeper at Adanwomase Senior High School is in police grips for allegedly stealing text books from the school�s bookshop. Benjamin Dwomoh, the accused, who had been working with the school for quite some time, was said to have stolen the Integrated Science past questions and answers for West African Senior High School Examination candidates� books and given to some men to sell for him. Briefing The Finder, the Asokwa Divisional Police Crime Officer, ASP Simon Denteh, said that they received a complaint from Professor Joseph Quarm, the chief executive officer of Prof Quarm Publications and the author of the books. According to him, the complainant, who does not retail his books but only supply to schools, said he had information that someone was selling some of his books at Miklin Hotel in Kumasi. He rushed to the scene and met two guys � Boakye Ansah and Ohene Manu � who are all book sellers at K.O., a Kumasi suburb. A report was made to the police, who arrested the two guys, and during interrogations, they mentioned the name of Benjamin Dwomoh as their supplier and he was also later arrested. The police found six cartons containing 30 copies each of the books, which the accused claimed were the surplus he had after taking stock. He has since been granted a police inquiry bail to assist the police in investigation.
