Bawumia Consoles Fobih

The 2012 Vice Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia last Saturday joined hundreds of sympathizers to mourn with Professor Dominic Fobih, former Minister of Education and Sports in the erstwhile Kufuor administration at the funeral of his brother and nephew. The joint funeral of Nana Akwasi Tano, Odikro of Assin Aworabo and Abusuapanin of the Oyoko Clan in Assin Jakai and Ex-Staff Sergeant Samuel Kutin-Nuamah was held at Assin Jakai in the Central Region. NPP gurus and other well wishers joined Prof Fobih, MP for Assin South and his nephew, Robert Kutin, the newly-elected NPP Central Regional Chairman to give a befitting funeral to the departed relatives. Apart from Dr Bawumia, other NPP chieftains who attended the funeral were Freddie Blay, former deputy Speaker of Parliament and an aspiring National Vice Chairman of the NPP; Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, former Minister of Trade and Industry; Alhaji Rashid Bawa, former Minister of State and Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; Fredrick Opare-Ansah, MP for Suhum and Rosemond Abrah, MP for Weija and other MPs. Also at the funeral were Central regional executives led by Joe Donkor, first Vice Chairman; Cynthia Morrison, Women�s Organiser; Danquah Smith popularly called Butey, immediate past Regional Chairman; Kofo Karikari Bondzie, second Vice Chairman and several executives from the various constituencies in the region. Several chiefs in the community also attended the event to give a fitting farewell to their colleague, Nana Akwasi Tano.
