Group Attacks Radio Justice In Tamale

Members of a youth group believed to be sympathisers of Abdul-Rasheed Mustapha, a known NDC activist, in the Northern regional capital, Tamale, have attacked and torched a local radio station. Filla FM's Reporter, Kwabena Ntow, says the attack on Radio Justice was in protest to on-air discussions about the killing of the young man at Aboabo in a suspected reprisal attack. The Kandahar boys are suspected to have killed the young man in vengeance to the killing of one of their members over the weekend. The NDC group reportedly besieged the radio station demanding that one of the panelists on the morning show be produced for making unguarded comments about the deceased. The workers of the radio station declined the request and that angered the group resulting in the partial burning down of the station and three saloon cars and other items. There is no news of any major injury to workers of the station but several properties, including vehicles, have been destroyed.
