President John Dramani Mahama Elected by West African Leaders as Chair of ECOWAS. President John Dramani Mahama was elected unanimously as the new Chair of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government for a one year term. The Ghanaian President takes over from President Alassane Ouattara of La Cote d'Ivoire. President Mahama is scheduled to give his acceptance speech at the Closing Session of the ongoing ECOWAS Summit on Saturday, 29 March 2014 at Yamoussoukro, La Cote d'Ivoire.
