MP Advocates Use Of Solar & Digging Of Boreholes To Supplement Energy & Water Supply

Member of Parliament for Tano North, Hon Freda Prempeh has called on government to introduce solar system as part of its initiatives to augment electricity supply to communities in the country. Hon. Freda Prempeh, contributing to U TV's discussion programme "Adekye Nsroma", advised the current administration to ensure that Ministries and institutions including Secondary Schools in the nation use solar energy. According to her, this method will help rectify the energy crisis that has since beset Ghanaians. She noted that the complications associated with the country's energy and water sectors are overwhelming. She bemoaned the new utilities price increases, adding that it is prudent for the government to adopt new strategies which will inure to the benefit of Ghanaians. Touching on the water situation in the nation, Hon. Prempeh also urged the Mahama administration to start digging boreholes in schools and other places so as to facilitate the supply of water to various societies. This, she stated, will curb the water crises that have become the bane of several Ghanaians. �Why can�t all the institutions set up solar panels? And even transmit solar energy to Secondary Schools? Why can�t we also dig boreholes for schools in order to reduce the water bills?� she questioned.
