Man United 0-1 Sunderland

Sebastian Larssons first-half winner made Sunderland almost safe from relegation but it well and truly popped the bubble of optimism surrounding Ryan Giggs reign as Manchester Uniteds stand-in manager. The Black Cats could be all but mathematically safe as soon as Sunday evening if Norwich lose at Chelsea. Giggs future at Old Trafford is shrouded in greater doubt with Louis van Gaal expected to be appointed in the coming days and with the Welshman's role in his set-up as yet unconfirmed.
