In an effort to get at some gangsters who allegedly carried out a robbery operation at the Aburi Lighthouse Christian Orphanage, the police have arrested five men who were said to be trading in dry leaves suspected to be Indian hemp. The suspects are Emmanuel Nukunu (student) 22; Justice Asare (pupil teacher) 22; Kojo Abban (electrician) 33; Brace Aboagye Samuel (electrician) 40 and Kofi Seisi (farmer) 45. Several bags of the suspected cannabis were retrieved from the suspects by the police upon their arrest. Narrating the story to DAILY GUIDE, COP Prosper Agblor, Director-General in-charge of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) said on May 20, 2014, the police had information that a robbery suspect, identified as Attroshie linked to the Lighthouse Christian Orphanage robbery, was at Ajumako Besease in the Central Region to procure a locally manufactured weapon from a blacksmith. The following day, the Anti-Armed Robbery Squad of the CID proceeded to Ajumako Besease in pursuit of the alleged fugitive robber. At the identified criminals den, the five men were spotted packing the dry leaves into sacks and were immediately apprehended. Attroshie, however could not be traced. Upon interrogation, Emmanuel Nukumu, who was said to be the leader of the five, mentioned one Madam Kukua and her son, Paa Kwesi, as owners of the substance. The five will be processed for court while efforts were being made to apprehend the supposed owners of the leaves. They (leaves) will be sent to the forensic laboratory for examination.
