NPP Is Broke

Reports say Ghanas foremost opposition party, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is broke. As a result, the partys machinery at all levels has been dormant and this has put pressure on executives at the grassroots. Checks uncovered that the party tuned bankrupt after the Tamale national delegates congress which produced the Paul Afoko led national leadership. Also, it has been revealed that the partys bankrollers have folded their arms and monitoring unfolding events awaiting the outcome of the flagbearer contest. Bigwigs of the party who have their preferred flagbearer hopefuls are rather investing in their campaigns to the neglect of the entire party machinery. It is still unknown whether the Jake Otank Obetsebi Lamptey led team has accounted for party resources mean for the 2012 general elections. Nonetheless, the party has set June 6 to open nominations for its already heated flagbearership contest. The arduous task ahead is how to raise funds for the impending flagbearership contest. Whoever emerges as the 2016 Presidential candidate will have to search for funds to run his campaigns. Meanwhile, campaign teams of the flagbearer hopefuls are already in the field marketing their candidates. One of the flagbearer hopefuls, Dr. Kofi Konadu Apraku was spotted in the north of the country meeting delegates. Addressing delegates in Tamale, Dr. Apraku debunked claims that he had bad relationship with the NPPs twice Presidential candidate, Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo. Unperturbed Nana Addos camp is re-strategizing and has decided to ignore any media warfare by the opposing camps from within the NPP. This explains why Nana Addos official Spokesperson, Mustapha Hamid remained tight lipped on Alan Kyeremantengs recent outburst in far-away in the New York of the United State of America where he called for change of flagbearer for 2016.
