TB Joshua Marks Birthday With Donations

Passion for the Needy, a charitable organisation belonging to the Ghana branch of the Synagogue Church of all Nations (SCOAN), has presented items worth GH14,197.00 to 18 needy institutions across the country. The donation, dubbed the Founders Day, is part of the 51st birthday celebrations of Prophet TB Joshua, Founder of SCOAN, which falls on Thursday, June 12. The items include bags of rice, cooking oil, sugar, milk, canned fish, canned tomato paste and cocoa beverages. Some of the beneficiary institutions include the Koforidua School for the Deaf, the Jamasi School for the Deaf, Takoradi School for the Deaf, Kibi School for the Deaf, Hohoe School for the Deaf, Akropong School for the Blind, State School for the Blind, the Accra rehabilitation Centre among others. Mrs Janet Torgbor-El- Aschker, Co-Chairperson, Passion for Needy, said the donation was in response to an appeal made by the heads of the needy schools to support their students, especially the final year students who are preparing for their BECE in June this year. Our aim for providing this particular support is to help keep the final year students on campus till they complete their exams and we know that the heads will help us achieve that goal, she said. She said the Founders Day celebration was an initiative aimed at using the birthday celebration of Prophet TB Joshua, who is the President of Passion for Needy, to reach out and support the needy in the society. This donation is the fourth in the series made to acknowledge the Founders passion in forming the NGO, which takes place on or before June 12 every year, she added. Mr Michael Cudjoe, Headmaster of Kibi School for the Deaf, who spoke on behalf of the beneficiary schools expressed appreciation to Prophet TB Joshua for the kind gesture.
