Ghana Must Clamp Down On Internet Fraud � Experts

The Internet has made the world a global village, but despite its positive benefits it has become an avenue for fraud. Security experts say cybercrime has become an emergency security threat because of the evils associated with it. Panelists on GBC's Current Affairs programme, �Talking Point,� raised several areas of internet fraud. A Council member for Research at the Institute of Public Relations Ghana, Charles Nii Ayi Ayiku, said people are able to send all kinds of suspicious mails to people's inbox through sophisticated applications. He urged all recipients of such suspicious mails to delete them. For his part, the Principal Consultant of E-Crime Bureau, Albert Antwi-Bosiako, pointed out how people are able to clone e-mails and websites. He advised people to safely manage their internet applications and software in order not to fall prey to criminals
