Police Wont Rush To Make Any Arrest In Bimbila - Police PRO

Following the mayhem which was visited upon the Bimbila township, the Ghana Police Service has made it clear that it would be erroneous on their part to quickly make any arrest without conducting a thorough investigation. The Director of Public Affairs at the Police Headquarters, DSP Cephas Arthur told Peace FM that the police would currently want to distance itself from pointing to one particular reason or thing responsible for the causing the chaos. We cant assign any cause or reason at the moment. If care isnt taken, we might end up confusing ourselves. We would investigate to find out the actual cause of the violence, he promised. The paramount chief of the Bimbila, Naa Dasana Dawuni has been confirmed dead from Thursdays violence which also claimed the lives of three others. The current turnout of event baffles many as it is on record that government has placed a 9:00 PM to 5:00AM curfew on the Bimbila Township. But DSP Cephas Arthur explains that the police soften the imposition placed on the township after a review. As to how the police would curb and avert the troubles in Bimbila, he rolled out that the Northern Regional Police Command together with the Anti Terrorist Squad, have announced their presence in the area. Aside this, the unit responsible for averting mass disorder; the Crime Scene and Homicide Suqad have also been transferred there, he said. In a related development, the family of the late chief is demanding justice. At a press conference in Tamale to formally announce the death of the overlord, the family said the state must find the perpetrators and bring them to book. The son of the late chief, Dassana Salifu said the attack on his father was shocking not only because of the manner in which it was done but because his father was a man of peace. "We demand that immediately the government should arraign the perpetrators to book," he told Hashmin Mohammed.
