Court Remands Driver For Defilement

A 47-year-old driver accused of defiling his landlady�s 13-year -old niece in a bathroom was on Wednesday put before an Accra Circuit Court charged with defilement. Enoch Amoah pleaded not guilty and the court presided over by Ms Sedina Agbemava remanded him into police custody to reappear on July 17. Prosecuting, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Adiza Sulemana told the court that Amoah is a tenant to the victim�s aunt. Prosecution said in the evening of June 14, the victim was having her bath when the accused person knocked on the bathroom door and the victim opened the door. ASP Sulemana said Amoah entered the bathroom, attacked the victim, covered her mouth with a white handkerchief and defiled her. After the act Amoah gave the victim GH�5.00 cedis, the prosecutor said. ASP Sulemana said the victim failed to inform anyone but on June 17 the aunt detected a change in the way the victim walked and asked her questions. The victim said Amoah defiled her and a report was made to the Nungua Police who arrested him.
