Suspected 'Ebola' Patient At Nyaho Clinic Dies

The expatriate patient who was transferred to the Nyaho Medical Centre with symptoms suggestive of haemorrhagic fever also known as Ebola has died. The patient who had been isolated with specialised attention from four staff of the hospital was said to have died Monday afternoon. Public Relations Officer for the Ministry of Health, Tony Goodman, who disclosed this to PeaceFM a short while ago, also added that initial tests for the suspected deadly Ebola virus undertaken by the Nugochi Memorial Research Institute had proved negative. The American arrived from Guinea on Sunday and reported at the clinic for medical attention. The Ministry of Health is currently having a crunch meeting with stakeholders on the matter to strategize on how to contain the deadly Ebola virus, should it break out in the country. There have been some 467 deaths of 759 cases reported in Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia by the close of June 30, this year. More soon....
