Atuabo Gas Plant To Be Inaugurated End Of This Month

The Gas Processing plant at Atuabo in the western region is expected to be inaugurated by the end of this month. The plant is also to get its first gas at the same time for test run until it begins to process 120 million cubic feet of raw gas. As of now the plant is 99.2 percent mechanically complete. Briefing the Vice President, Kwesi Amissah Arthur at the plant site, the Chief Executive of Ghana. Gas Company, Dr George Sipa Yankey said the country will be saving 500 million dollars annually as crude oil import substitution. He said the plant when completed will also supply 75 percent of the national LPG requirement thereby saving millions of dollars on import.
