An armed gang has attacked Haiti's main high-security prison in an audacious jailbreak, officials and police said, and hundreds of inmates may have flooded out, according to residents.
Police spokesman Gary Desrosiers said officials were not sure how many of the 899 inmates escaped from the prison northeast of the capital, but he said 10 had been recaptured.
