NDC Youth Wing Salutes The Youth Of Ghana

The Youth Wing of the ruling National Democratic Congress [NDC] has called on the youth of Ghana to take advantage of the abounding opportunities modern technology and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) offers to venture into techno-based projects for national development. In a statement signed by the National Youth Organiser, Ludwig Hlodze, the Youth Wing hailed the newly outdoored �YOUTH ENTREPRISE SUPPORT� (YES) by His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama, as a major step in supporting youth-based projects with the needed capital for growth. The statement commended young men and women who on their own have struggled to start their own businesses and encouraged them to take advantage of the Fund to support their businesses and form a network of small businesses that can access further support from government. This year�s International Youth Day is under the theme,�Youth and Mental Health� and in Ghana, it is being celebrated under the sub theme, �Investing In Young People;The Key to Ghana�s Transformational and Economic Development�. Ludwig Hlodze, said �the Ghc10 million seed money by the Government to the Youth Enterprise Support (YES) is a manifestation of making good a manifesto promise by the party to support youth enterprise development and called today�s launch historic, as it will go down in history as the biggest support project dedicated to youth development.� The statement further called on other financial institutions to contribute to the Fund so many more can benefit from it and charged management and board of YES to initiate capacity building programmes for beneficiaries. On Mental Health Related issues, the Youth Organiser has called on and all to do more to eliminate stigmatization and discrimination against young persons with mental health issues and support them to integrate in society. The statement commended the youth of Ghana for their invaluable contribution to national development and admonished them to focus more on the Information and Communication bit of technology to educate themselves on development issues around the world. Ludwig Hlodze concluded the statement by asking the youth of Ghana to turn away from using social media as grounds for propagating hatred, insults, and abusive attacks on leaders of the nation including political opponents but rather use the time and efforts to research, educate and sell the good virtues of our country to the rest of the world.
