NDC Members Asked To Be Vigilant

The Secretary of the Zongo Caucus of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ashanti Region, Alhaji Alhassan Ibrahim, has urged members of his party to be vigilant and resort to the laid-down procedures of challenging alleged minors during the August 4-13 limited voter registration. He said vigilance did not connote violence, urging his people to ensure that the sanctity of the voter register was protected. After touring 15 constituencies to monitor the registration exercise, Alhaji Ibrahim told party supporters that trading of accusations by the two leading political parties NDC and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) would only muddy the exercise and make Ghana the loser. Among the constituencies he visited were Subin, Manhyia North and Manhyia South, Ejusu Juaben, Ejura Sekyere Odumase and Oforikrom. He is leading the Zongo Caucus in the peace mission to disabuse the minds of people that zongo communities were associated with violence. The move was to complement the efforts by the Regional Chairman, Yaw Obimpeh and the Regional Secretary, Raymond Tandoh, in ensuring that minors, irrespective of the party they belonged to, were stopped from registering.
