I Won't Withdraw..."I'm Capable Of Leading NPP To Victory In 2016"

There have been many calls for New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer aspirant, Alan Kyerematen to withdraw from the party's presidential primaries slated for October 18, 2014. Following the magnitude of Nana Akufo-Addo's victory he chalked during last Sunday's Super Delegates' Congress, some leading figures in the opposition party have prevailed on Alan Kyerematen and the two other candidates: Osei Ameyaw and Addai Nimoh to rather back down and rally behind Nana Akufo Addo as the presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in 2016. But in a statement issued on Wednesday, Alan Kyerematen says he is not going to pull out of the race. I have a clear indication that the NPP fraternity believes l am capable of leading our party to victory in the 2016 elections. I take this charge very seriously and assure our party members that I will do all within my power, and by the Grace of the Almighty God, not to let them down. Read the full statement below Last Sunday, 31st August 2014, The New Patriotic Party (NPP), once again demonstrated that we are the pacesetters in Ghanas democratic dispensation, when we held our special delegates elections to prune down the number of candidates for the flagbearer position from seven to five. Let me express my appreciation to the entire party and particularly the delegates who ensured that I was included in the list of five contestants for the final primary. By this action, I have a clear indication that the NPP fraternity believes l am capable of leading our party to victory in the 2016 elections. I take this charge very seriously and assure our party members that I will do all within my power, and by the Grace of the Almighty God, not to let them down. I congratulate all aspirants who took part in Sundays special election, both those who have been included in the five and the two who were not included. Going forward, the surest way for our party to win power is to foster genuine unity and peace within the party. Ahead of the October 18th primary, I reaffirm my resolve to provide a leadership that will provide the drive for a strong, united and peaceful party for victory in 2016. As we enter the next stage of the process that will lead to the final selection of one presidential candidate, I ask all our party faithful for their continued and unflinching support, as we march for victory in 2016. God Bless us all, Thank You Signed Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen
