Hell Fire For Robber �Body Rots After Sustaining Gunshots [PHOTO]

A FAMILY at Akyem New Tafo has abandoned their forty-two-year old relative, Kwasi Appiah in the bush to rot after sustaining gunshot wounds in the legs during a robbery operation in Kumasi, the Ashanti regional capital. The family suspects that the victim is an armed robber and sustained the gunshot wounds when on robbery operation. The victim has been cursed and dumped at the mercy of the harsh weather. The legs of the victim have since the shooting been infested with maggots which are gradually eating away the legs. People who pass by the victim sometimes throw food at him to feed him. The DAILY HERITAGE has gathered that the family dumped the victim who has deformity at the right hand into the bush at night; days after he was alleged to have been sneaked to the family house at dawn at Akyem Tafo from Kumasi by a group of men believed to be his robbery gang members. When contacted, the family said the victim is hesitating to confess, but they highly suspect the victim of engaging in robbery, hence, has reported to the Akyem Tafo Police Command to investigate. According to the family, the legs of the victim are getting rotten with maggots emanating with serious stench and, therefore, the family cannot accommodate the victim in their house. The family further said they are financially not sound to send the victim to the Hospital for medical attention, adding that the victim was once sent to a native doctor for treatment, but he was unable to treat the victim. In an interview with the victim at his abandoned place, he debunked allegation by his family members that he was a robber. According to him, he was a barber and decided to go to Kumasi for greener pastures; however, he sustained gunshot wounds while the police were chasing armed robbers at Asafo area in Kumasi months ago. He said he did not have, and so decided to seek traditional treatment which was not successful. The victim added that his condition became worse as a result and was sent back home by some good Samaritans. He is, therefore, appealing to the public to offer financial support to enable him undergo surgical operation to amputate the legs. The outgoing District Police Commander in Charge of Akyem Tafo District Police Command, ASP John Yeboah stated that, the police received complaint from the family about the robbery suspicion of the victim which the police are investigating.
