NDC Must Revive Grassroots - Abodakpi

Mr Dan Abodakpi, one of the candidates vying for the position of National Chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) says the party must revive its grassroots, to enable it retain power in 2016. Addressing the South Tongu constituency delegates� conference at Sogakope in the Volta Region, he said weaknesses at the party�s grassroots are real. Mr Abodakpi, said the desire to rebuild the party�s grassroots, was partly why he decided to join the contest. �A weak grassroots means a weak party and we have to act quickly,� he said. Mr Abodakpi entreated the new executives to work hard and collaborate with all. Mr Samuel Mawuko Eworyi, District Chief Executive (DCE), said government is working hard to build a strong nation despite the challenges. All the old executives except William Amedzo, Organiser and Gladys Abaya, Women�s Organiser, were replaced in the elections, supervised by the officials of the Electoral Commission. Mr Christian Sakli, 66, a former DCE of the area is the new Constituency Chairman, Michael Amekor � Secretary, Kwasi Gbadago � Treasurer, Bruno Gakpetor � Youth Organiser and William Adusu � Propaganda Secretary. A total of 48 people vied for the 18 positions with 464 delegates voting.
