We Are Going To Make Sure We Dont Get Cheated - Akufo Addo

The New Patriotic Partys (NPP) 2012 presidential candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo has declared zero tolerance for cheating during the next general elections. He said the Electoral Commission (EC) will find it tough manipulating results to favour a particular party in 2016. Nana Addo was addressing Northern NPP delegates who gave him 88.5 percent during the partys super delegates congress. He underscored the need for all NPP polling agents to double their efforts in 2016 to avoid cheating at the polling stations. According to Nana Addo who is seeking to lead the NPP for the third time, the 2012 election petition hearing exposed the ECs machinations which he claimed favoured the governing NDC.He emphatically stated, this time we are going to make sure we dont get cheated: we are not going to see 27 becoming 27/0 on the paper, is not going to happen this time. We are going to make sure that all the loop holes are plugged so that at the end of the day a declaration will be made the NPP Presidential candidate, Nana Ado Danquah Akufo Addo has won the Presidential election and that will allow us to begin the task of transformation of Ghana, Nana Addo stressed. He appealed to the eight delegates who voted for the other candidates during the super delegates and provoked the regional Chairman, Daniel Bugri Naabu to endorse his candidature by popular acclamation on October 18. Nana Akufo Addo accused the governing NDC of stealing the electorates mandate in 2016. This, he contended has culminated into what he described as President John Mahamas Reckless mismanagement of the economy. He also condemned governments decision to go for financial bailout from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to stabilize the nations fragile economy. Nana Akufo Addo said the NPP will implement pro-poor programmes to close the gap between the north and the south in terms of infrastructural and human development. Kufuor took us there and instead of these people building on it they are taking us back: God willing when we come at the beginning of 2017 the task of transforming our country that will allow our young people to get work: an economy that will begin to change dynamics of things here in the north, we are going to do that so that people can get jobs, traders can get wealthy and agriculture will begin to flourish again so that the gap between the north and the south which is the very ambition of my life we are going to close that gap.
