Bugri Naabu Not Qualified To Criticize MPs - NDC Chairman

The Northern Regional Chairman of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Chief Sofo Azorka, has hit back at his New Patriotic Party (NPP) counterpart, Daniel Bugri Naabu for making what he describes as disparaging remarks about some Members of Parliament (MPs) in the region. Daniel Bugri Naabu in an address at the annual Linujil (Yam Festival) celebrated by the chiefs and people of Bunbong-Naayili, in the Yendi Municipality described some NDC MPs as stooges who have failed to perform as Parliamentarians. His remarks have incurred the wrath of Chief Azorka who has not only condemned Bugri Naabus statement, but also stated that the NPP Chairman is not qualified to pass any judgment on the MPs.He observed that without the support of constituents, MPs will be unable to evenly develop their constituencies. Chief Azorka fumed saying, you send your MPs to Parliament, you sit down and you are waiting for your MP to come before you work. We should help the MPs but if you sit at one place and condemn the MPs, me Azorka, I wont allow this nonsense in politics. He charged Bugri Naabu to rather examine the NPP MPs because according to him, they are not working and its not that I cant tell him. According to the NDC regional chairman, Bugri Naabu is not qualified to hold any political position because he is a contractor and the NPP voted him as a regional chairman so he can say anything he wants. Im telling him that he is not a politician. Chief Azorka cautioned Bugri Naabu to be circumspect in his utterances which have the tendency of causing chaos and discord between the NPP and the NDC.
