No Alan, No Political Power in 2016

As the more than 141,000 delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) prepare to vote in all 10 regions, two slogans have been vibrating. For Nana Akufo-Addo, it is No Nana, No Vote and for Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, Its No Alan, No Political Power. A member of the campaign team of Alan Kyerematen, popularly known as Alan K told the 'Daily Dispatch' our slogan simply means that if the NPP delegates do not elect Alan as their 2016 flagbearer, they (the supporters) should forget about victory in 2016. The above quote confirms the impression many political analysts have that if Alan is not elected as the NPPs flagbearer, supporters of Alan may decide not to turn up to vote for the person to be elected likely to be Nana Akufo Addo. At the launch of his campaign at Abeka Lapaz in Accra, Alan said that the NPP has two keys to opening the doors of electoral victory. One key has been tried twice, unsuccessful, so there was the need to try the other one. Dr. Richard Anane, the NPP Member of Parliament for Nhyiaeso and Member of the Alan campaign team, dropped a veiled threat at the launch of Alans campaign at Abeka. He hinted the possibility that Alan might not offer Akufo Addo the necessary support if he did not get enough time to campaign towards the October 18 elections.
