William Sakyi popularly known as Obinim Malley, 36, has allegedly been poisoned to death through meat-pie at a wedding reception, at Dansoman, a suburb of Accra on Saturday.
The late Obinim Malley was a popular radio serial caller in the nation�s capital and the Eastern region. The ardent New Patriotic Party (NPP) communicator was also known for his contributions to sports programmes in Accra and the Eastern region.
The body of the deceased has been deposited at a hospital morgue in Dansoman, Accra. Speaking to William Sakyi Snr., another radio serial caller and twin brother to the deceased at Suhum in the Eastern region, he explained that, on Saturday October 4 at around 3:40 pm, he received a distress call from a family member that his brother who was taking a video coverage at a wedding ceremony had suddenly collapsed, hospitalized and pronounced dead.
He stated that the sad news came to him as a shock since he spoke with him that fateful morning.
According to him, preliminary investigations have revealed that the deceased was poisoned through meat-pie served him at the wedding ceremony.
He narrated that, the deceased complained of sudden severe stomach pains while taking the video coverage at the wedding and subsequently collapsed with foam coming out of his mouth and died shortly when rushed to the hospital by some of the wedding attendants.
