The Ashanti Regional Youth Wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has declared its support for Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo ahead of the party�s upcoming delegates� conference scheduled for October 18.
They said they were convinced that he is the best candidate to lead the NPP to victory in the 2016 general elections.
The endorsement was contained in a statement jointly signed by the Regional Youth Organizer, Justin Kodua Frimpong, and his deputy, Nelson Owusu Ansah, in Kumasi.
They paid tribute to Nana Addo for his sacrifices and loyal service to the party, passion, and vision to transform Ghana into a prosperous nation, saying he is �peerless� and �matchless.�
They described him as a �statesman, a true democrat, and true patriot� and stated that, �these make him an inspirational leader to us.�
The party�s youth also said Nana Addo is incorruptible and has demonstrated to Ghanaians that he is peace-loving.
�He is the kind of leader that the overwhelming majority of the party�s delegates, supporters, floating voters� are yearning for to lead the nation,� they said.
The statement said all the youth groups in the party, therefore, fully back his candidature, a decision they said, was borne out of broad consultations with the constituency youth organizers, polling station youth organizers, and TESCON delegates.
Nana Addo is contesting Mr Alan K. Kyerematen and Mr Francis Addae-Nimoh for the flagbearership position of the NPP.
