Some Volta NPP Executives Express Support For Alan K.

Some polling station and constituency executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Volta Region have expressed gratitude to Mr. Alan Kyeremanten, one of the flag bearer aspirants of the party for promising to give them bicycles, mobile phones and monthly salaries. A polling station executive and delegate to the October 18 presidential primary, who only identified himself as Efo Sammy, told the Ghana News Agency that he saw nothing wrong with Mr. Kyeremantens promise to provide them with bicycles, mobile phones and logistics in the run-up to the 216 general elections. He praised the former Trade Minister under the Kufuor regime for the promise and wished him well in his bid to lead the party into Election 2016. Mr. Kyeremanten, last Wednesday in the Volta Region, promised to give free bicycles, mobile phones and money to all polling station and constituency executives across the country in order to motivate them and to enhance their performance as local leaders and warriors of the party. However, one of the Chairmen, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the NPP rather needed popular candidates and unity in order to win the 2016 general elections. The soft-spoken Chairman lauded Mr. Kyeremantens rosy promise but said he could still do that if he lost the primaries, adding that, the nation had gone past the stage where leaders made promises they could not fulfill. He told the GNA of his resolve to at least garner two-thirds of the total valid votes for the lead contender Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
