A member of parliament from the central region on the ticket of the ruling National Democratic Congress has rebuked the general secretary of his party, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, for attempting to bully delegates to vote for his beleaguered national chairman in the upcoming national delegates congress of the party. The irritated MP said General Mosquito should be preparing to resign from his post because the man he wants a chairman will not be re-elected. Opinion poll suggests ,the out of favour national chairman, Dr Kwabena Adjei, is of the �winning team executives� to suffer defeat in the congress and General Mosquito is using . Three people including two current vice chairmen namely ,Huudu Yahaya and Kofi Portuphy are challenging Dr Kwabena Adjei for the chairmanship position.The other challenger is former Ghana High Commissioner to Malaysia, Hon Dan Abodekpe. Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketia, speaking at the campaign launch of the national chairman, Dr Kwabena Adjei threatened to relinquish his post if party delegates vote for executives who are not loyal to the party.General Mosquito who is currently standing unopposed, revealed he will step aside should delegates give the mandate to people he perceives as disloyal to the �cause of the NDC.� He described Dr Adjei as the best person to occupy the national chairman position due to his experience and cordial relationship with his current executives. �On my way here somebody said, �are you going to endorse Dr Kwabena Adjei?� I said, Dr Kwabena Adjei doesn�t need my endorsement, he is an endorsement in himself, because your records will speak for you. But speaking to the paper ,the enraged MP said, General Mosquito should not assumed that he can bully anybody and �impose a chairman on us�. He further pointed out that General Mosquito is campaigning for ,Dr Kwabena Adjei, because he is afraid any chairman apart from the incumbent ,will be involved in how the party is manage. He said the party going into 2016 election will need a chairman who can mobilized party followers at all levels to work towards victory 2016. �My brother I can tell you that MPs on the majority side will support a chairman who is concern about issues in our constituency�. Can the national chairman tell me how I won my seat, he questioned. why should I vote for a chairman who doesn�t know how are I won my seat.I don�t fault General Mosquito, he is looking for means to keep hold of his dominance over the affairs of the party and with Kwabena Adjei he will have his way as chairman he will always have his way. Meanwhile the Campaigners for Alhaji Hudu Yahaya one of the contenders of the National Chairman slot of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has said they are unperturbed by the open show of support by some national executives for incumbent chairman, Dr Kwabena Adjei. The spokesperson for Alhaji Hudu Yahaya, Mutawakil Rawbil said their message of �revival of the ideology� and the spirit of solidarity of the party has been widely accepted by the delegates, whose mandate it will be to elect the national chairman of the party at the party�s upcoming congress. Mutawakil Rawbil told Citi News that the position of national chairman �is about call to service and dedication and duty and not about an individual and what he has done in the past.�
