A Kumasi High Court has urged the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) to put its house into order to ensure proper governance in the country. Mr. Justice Jacob Boon, presiding over a suit filed by the immediate past TEIN President of Akrokerri Training College, seeking an injunction to restrain party executives from conducting national and regional Elections said it would be proper if the party ironed out their differences to avoid a split to their disadvantage. He said he was hesitant to give a ruling and hoped the party would do the right thing and seek an out of court settlement and concentrate on governance instead of encouraging internal wrangling in the party to its disadvantage. Mr. Linux Njonlulah, the Plaintiff, has hauled the Ashanti Regional and National Executive of the party to court for over staying in office, following which the court has granted an interlocutory injunction to stop the ruling NDC from holding Regional Executives elections. Meanwhile, Counsel for plaintiff, Lawyer Felix Datsomor has raised questions about the credibility of his colleague, Nana Kwesi Boaitey, representing the NDC party in court. According to him, the affidavit submitted by the defendants did not state the office and working license of the solicitor, which he said is unacceptable. Counsel has further indicated that the plaintiff would not withdraw the suit if the defendants do not file a formal application to seek an out of court settlement as they propose. The case has been adjourned to October 14, 2014.
