Over 141,000 delegates of the main opposition, New Patriotic Party (NPP) will on Saturday October, 18, 2014, go to the polls to vote for their favourite candidate at the partys National Delegates Conference. Delegates will be choosing between Alan Kojo Kyerematen, Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo and Francis Addai-Nimoh as their flagbearer to lead them during the 2016 election. The election will take place in 275 constituencies and the partys headquarters. According to O.B Amoah, a member of the Election Committee, each constituency will have one centre where the voting will be taking place. It will not be at all the polling stations; it will be at the centres; one centre per constituency we will give the list to the police for them to be aware to enable them provide adequate security... he indicated. Speaking in an interview on Citi Eyewitness news Monday, OB Amoah said the party has already set out guidelines for the election and copies have been sent to all the 275 constituencies. The EC has also brought out some dos and donts - nobody is allowed to show his ballot (paper) as to how he voted. The EC says if you go ahead and do so, that vote will be nullified. The Electoral Commission barring any unforeseen circumstances will declare the results at 10pm.
