Someone Should Tell Me One Common Sense In Supplying Power To VALCO? Pratt Quizzes

Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt says the explanations offered by energy providers regarding the erratic power supply to Ghanaians are "useless" and should not be entertained. Speaking on Peace FM's Morning Show "Kokrokoo", Kwesi Pratt slammed the electricity generators and suppliers for failing to resolve the energy challenges confronting consumers in the nation. He wondered why, even in the 21st Century, the energy providers still find "excuses" as their final resort to address consumers. According to him, the reasons given by the energy providers, particularly the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) lacks "common sense" and therefore stridently called on them to fix the situation. The fact that water level at Akosombo has gone down cannot be an excuse. The fact that we dont have gas cannot be an excuse. These are all useless excuses. It doesnt address the problems. He also expressed disappointment in the energy providers, questioning their rationale for supplying electricity to the Volta Aluminum Company (VALCO), which to him, has cost the nation millions of dollars already. In his earnest conviction, supplying VALCO with electricity at the expense of Ghanaian consumers is awful and that "theres no tinge of wisdom in it. "I want somebody to prove to me why even as today, in the wake of all these hardships; we still supply electricity to VALCO. Somebody should tell me one common sense in it, Mr. Pratt challenged. He also slammed State authorities for their failure to revamp the economy and stated emphatically the authorities were appointed to curb the economic crises, other than that any useless person could be in government and give us excuses. We are tiredSolve the problem!
