Im Still Relevant In NPP Alan Kyerematen

Defeated flagbearer hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Alan Kyerematen says he still remains relevant in the party in spite of the margin of defeat. According to him, his performance in the just-ended presidential primaries on Saturday, October 18th 2014 will not affect his clout in the party. Mr. Kyerematen in his third attempt to lead the NPP garnered just 5,908 of the total votes, whiles his arch-rival now flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo polled 117,413 representing a record 94.35 percent. His votes have also reduced from 32.30 percent in 2007 to 4.75 percent at the just ended flagbearership contest. This performance some political pundits say will adversely affect his political career and to a large extent his support base in the NPP. But a hopeful Kyerematen on Asempa FMs Ekosii Sen programme Tuesday opined that his defeat will not have any impact on his future political career. Rather he said the most important thing is how he contributes to the partys victory in the 2016 general elections. The former Trade Minister who touts himself as a founding member of the NPP indicated that he will continue to remain loyal to the party irrespective of the role he plays in the round up to the 2016 elections. I believe in the ideals and philosophy in the NPP party so irrespective of the role I play I still remain relevant, he added.
